Our May 2020 production, Glitterus: Dragon Rising, is seeking volunteer applications for:

- Director
- Choreographer
- Stage manager
- Puppet/creatures designer
- Costume designer
- Set designer

Planning for production will begin late November 2019 and full production begins in January 2020. Glitterus: Dragon Rising is set to open the weekend of May 22nd and to run for four consecutive weekends in a 200-seat house at Zion Church of Baltimore City.

Glitterus tackles feminist themes with humor and candor, operates within the realm of high opulent fantasy, and serves as a balance to male-dominated adventure narrative. We have consciously limited violence as a solution to conflict within the script and have highlighted the importance of combining voices and actions to defeat tyranny. Our writer, Jamie Ginsberg, has produced a collaboratively-sourced and peer-revised script that deftly narrates the growth of our protagonist, Brigid, as she learns to work with four priestesses from neighboring lands (Valstead, Mixi, Ahlia, and Ketya) to find the hidden eggs of Glitterus (the 1000-year-old dragon queen). Along the way, she learns to join together in celebration and ceremony with sisters from another land and to fight the misinformation and cruel power of the evil tower wizard, Vincent.

If interested, please send a short letter indicating your interest, details about your current or past production roles, and a short description of your ideas for Glitterus: Dragon Rising to Sarah Gilchrist at sarahburnsgilchrist@gmail.com and Aran Keating at aran@baltimorerockopera.org. Script and music will be shared before we proceed to interviews with potential team members.

Interviews will begin in November 2019. Please include your contact information (phone, e-mail, address) to facilitate communication. Thank you for sharing your talents with BROS and for contributing to Glitterus’ success!
