PITCH PARTY Thursday, March 24th, 2022 Attendees vote at the actual event. Voting open to general public on this night only. ONLINE VOTING March 24th - May 11th Anybody who has volunteered on a BROS show is allowed to vote. The BROS Artistic Council is presenting PITCH PARTY THE 9TH, where the company will vote for the for the NEXT FULL-SCALE BROS production to be produced in Spring of 2024. The BROS Artistic Council will review all pitches submitted on this form (open now and closing on 2/28/22) and decide which will be heard by the greater BROS community at this year's PITCH PARTY. The pitch party will take place on March 24th at The Crown (1910 N. Charles St) The PITCH PARTY will be open to the public in order to continue our mission of engaging more with our greater Baltimore community. Voting happens at the actual pitch party and online for a few weeks afterwards. All members of the BROS community are encouraged to vote for their favorite!

Pitches will be evaluated based on their strength of concept, originality, visual and musical aesthetic, their relationship and context to our past body of work, and just how excited they make us.  Show pitches that are too similar to our recent work in genre, setting, or aesthetic are less likely to be selected to be in the Pitch Party (i.e.  Glitterus ,a high fantasy epic, Love & Roar, a Kaiju rom-com, and Gold Night, a turn of the century folk tale about the Canadian gold rush will be the full-length shows leading up to this one). Because the collaborative development process is important to BROS we are not looking for already written and developed shows.

We encourage you to email ac@baltimorerockopera.org with any questions about your pitch. We're happy to talk over email, give advice and context or set up a call with anybody interested in pitching a show!

This year we also want to get EVERYONE excited about pitches, so feel free to start talking yours up to the greater BROS community as soon as possible!  Maybe you'll get a great idea for the villain, or perhaps you'll find a kindred spirit who would want to write some music for your pitch?  Either way, it's never too early to start getting folks interested in your pitch, and we will be creating some opportunities so you can do just that.

We want you to make us excited about your ideas, because we want to get the community excited about them.  Remember our motto, "In Panton Redundo" (excessive, larger-than-life, epic and with great potential to inspire and be awesome), and how does your idea fulfill this. You are encouraged to reference BROS Community and Artistic Values in your pitch material.

******THE PITCH PARTY*******

The BROS Artistic Council will evaluate all pitches and notify applicants by March 7th. PITCH PARTY THE 9TH will be held on Thursday March 24th, 2022, at The Crown. Again, we invite the greater BROS community and audience to come and join. We are hoping to further develop and engage our fan base as well as give opportunities to interact with the communities we exist and operate in. Each selected pitch is encouraged to collaborate with a handful of people who can help them develop their idea, outline the plot/concepts and come up with visuals and music/sounds to help sell their pitch to the BROS.

Attendees to the Pitch Party (and online participants within our volunteer network) will then VOTE on their favorite pitch. The show with the most votes will be the next show in the BROS lineup of original rock theater face melters.

If you've pitched in the past, you are welcome to re-submit the same pitch or a new one! There is no limit to the number of pitches you may submit but please exercise quality over quantity.

Anybody can pitch! The favorite pitch as voted by the BROS members and volunteers will be our 2024 mainstage production!
Submit your pitch via the form!
